A registered charity, The Island Partnership was established in 1988 with the aims and objectives of addressing the traditionally debilitating high level of unemployment and the low levels of skills and qualifications that informed the former statistic, on the Isle of Sheppey, located in the Thames Estuary, just fifty miles from London, and at the eastern limit of the multi-billion pound Thames Gateway Project.
Based within the bookish and leafy environment of a listed, former County Library building The Island Partnership has determinedly retained an ethos that passionately promotes the limitless rewards of learning within its community. Traditionally that community has represented much of the north western corner of Kent, now though, enhanced by the boundless possibilities presented by information and communication technology that virtual community is in a state of unrestricted growth.
Since its inception the Partnership has evolved and developed within its area to become a leading provider of vocational advice, guidance and training. Over the greater part of the last couple of decades The Island Partnership has worked with literally thousands of individuals, along with businesses and organisations, enhancing lives and enabling individuals to increase the scope of their potential through the medium of newly developed skills and effective qualifications.
Our relationship with learners is characterised by an understanding of the unique development needs of each individual, which is reflected in their training and development plan. You may be looking for training in the basic use of a computer or for advanced and more specialised computing, or you may be seeking to improve your English and Maths skills. You may be an individual seeking to improve your life opportunities, or you may be looking for training for your work-force. The Island Partnership has the experience and expertise to make a difference.
